Jayous Mata

Founder & Managing Director

Jayous is our Founder and Managing Director. She has over 14 years’ experience in business development and recruitment & human resources, having helped countless companies in Europe and Asia with their recruitment goals.

Jayous assists our clients to penetrate and enhance their presence in the Asia market. She has worked with businesses of all sizes, from SMEs to Fortune 500 companies, providing professional support to them on how to streamline their hiring process, attract and retain talent, and save money in the process.

Having worked in the recruitment and human resources industry for many years, she felt dissatisfied with the old-school approaches used both in-house and within recruitment agencies. As a result, she founded Career Pond in 2021 to bring a fresh perspective to the market and a renewed approach to how people deal with a recruitment company.

Jayous holds an Executive Master’s in Human Resource Management from IRL Cornell University in the United States.

Annie Huang

Senior Regional Recruitment Manager

As Senior Regional Recruitment Manager, Annie leads recruitment projects across Asia-Pacific, with a special focus on China and Singapore.

Annie is an experienced leader with significant industry expertise and deep knowledge of the recruitment of HR landscape in China and other markets. Annie has over 20 years’ experience in the industry, working in various in-house and agency roles. She has played an integral role in helping companies with their global hiring strategy, providing professional support to both established enterprises and those new to the market. 

At Career Pond, Annie is focused on empowering businesses to achieve their full potential in Asia. Using her in-depth knowledge of recruitment practices and HR laws, Annie guides our clients to better understand the market so that they can reach their goals faster. 

Gifty Osei-Mireku

International Recruiter

Gifty is our International Recruiter at Career Pond. Her focus is on attracting and retaining the best talent in order to deliver great service, value, and impact for our clients. She is practiced at finding and engaging candidates with vital local expertise and industry skills, giving our clients an unmatched service to find the perfect candidate for them.

Prior to joining Career Pond, Gifty worked in HR administration, giving her a solid foundation and capability to recruit candidates. She handles the recruitment process from start to finish, helping clients craft an appealing job description, conducting a search on our database, shortlisting the most qualified candidates, and finally connecting candidates with clients for interviews.

Gifty holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Presbyterian University College, Ghana, as well as a Master’s degree in Management Science from Anhui University of Science and Technology, China.

Hamish Murray


Originally from the UK, Hamish is our Consultant at Career Pond and has lived in Asia for over 4 years. Specializing in Marketing and Business Development, Hamish loves nothing more than building relationships and helping to grow the Career Pond brand. Hamish identifies partner opportunities and works closely with clients to understand their global recruitment goals. 

Before joining Career Pond, Hamish worked for a human resources and global expansion consulting company in Shanghai. He understands a broad range of professional services designed to help businesses expand their operations in Asian markets, as well as the impact that the right candidate can have on the success of a business.

Hamish has always had a deep interest in other languages and cultures. He graduated from the University of Birmingham, UK, with a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages.
